The Lexicon Alpha Driver is the official software that enables reliable, low-latency communication between the Lexicon Alpha USB audio interface and your computer. It installs the components your operating system and DAW need to recognize the hardware, route audio, and maintain stable performance for recording, overdubbing, and playback. On Windows, it provides ASIO and WDM support; on macOS, it integrates with Core Audio for consistent operation across major audio applications. A simple control panel lets you choose sample rates and adjust buffer sizes to balance latency and CPU load. Developed by Lexicon specifically for the Alpha interface, this driver helps ensure clean, artifact-free audio, responsive monitoring, and dependable connectivity for musicians, podcasters, and home-studio users on supported operating systems. For best results, install the latest version available for your OS.

Whatever DAW software I'm using (Reaper, Cubase, Studio One) I get the same problem: as soon as I start recording, the Alpha just ceases to work and won't record or playback. I've taken to using the on-board HD audio chip, which seems to be very stable. This is not a good advert for the Lexicon Driver and I'm disappointed that each incarnation of the driver does nothing to resolve the issues. For such a big program as Lexicon, this is very disappointing.
